• Draw: Take one card from either the discard or stock pile
  • Discard: Once a player draws, the player must select a card from their hand and discard it into the discard pile
  • If a card is drawn from the discard pile, it cannot be discarded in the same turn
  • The first round of Grand Gin Rummy works slightly different from the subsequent turns:
    • The non-dealing player may choose from the discard pile or pass, drawing from the stock pile is not permitted
    • If the initial player passes, the opponent has the same option
    • If the initial player draws from the discard pile, the opponent can then choose from either the stock pile or the discard pile
    • If both players pass, the initial player can then draw from the stock pile only, and the pass phase of that round is complete
