Tarot is the oldest European card game! Introduced during the Renaissance in France, Tarot is the mother of all French card games such as Belote, Rami, or Canasta!
And like with any game, every player has a special rule or a regional version or naming convention that they use while playing. On Tarot Classique, we've based our rules on the official ones established by the French Federation of Tarot (F.F.T) available on their website 👉 https://www.fftarot.fr/.
You can consult them by clicking here.
Consequently, we do not apply the bidding variations such as the "Parole" or "Pousse". The different variations of the Misère, such as "Trump Misère/ Misère d'atout" or "Figure Misère/Misère de figure", are not taken into account when calculating the score.
Our rules can be found in our FAQs "Rules", and we recommend you to check as well the "REGLEMENT OFFICIEL DU JEU DE TAROT", published in 2012 by the F.F.T, for a more detailed version of the official rules for all variants, individual or team tournaments, as well as strategic tips.
If you require more information, we kindly ask you to contact us in either English or French by clicking on the Settings icon (with the 3 lines) at the top right of the screen, then on the “Help” button ". You can then open a conversation by clicking the bubble 💬 in the upper right corner.
Enjoy playing Tarot Classique!
