1. Aim of the game

The first person to place all their cards including placing their last card on the discard pile wins the round.

The deck

Rummy is played with two 52-card decks and 3 Jokers. Suits follow the order: clubs, spades, hearts and diamonds.

Hint: You can change the colors of your cards at any time by tapping on the three lines at the top left and then tap the icons next to "Card suits".

Card values

The cards have the following values:

2. Gameplay

The deal

Each player is dealt 13 cards. The remaining cards are placed face-down on the stock pile. The first card from the stock pile is placed face-up next to the stock pile to start the discard pile.

Drawing cards

When a player draws a card from the stock pile and immediately discards a card from their hand, they are not allowed to draw another card from either pile. It is then the next player's turn.

Placing melds

A player must first add sets or sequences (melds) from their hand to the table before they can interact with any of the cards on the table.

Sequences and sets are also called MELDS.

  • SET - 3 or 4 cards of the same value but different suits (for example, 3 Queens)
  • SEQUENCE - 3 or more matching cards of the same suit in a row (for example, 7, 8 and 9 of Hearts)

👉 To place melds on the table, tap the colored area below each meld.

Players who have already placed melds can interact with cards on the table as soon as it is their turn. This includes adding to existing melds and swapping out Jokers.

If a player swaps out a Joker, it must be used in the same turn. This Joker cannot be saved and used in a later turn.

Ace

An Ace can be placed either after a King (11 points) or before a 2 (1 point).

Note: An Ace cannot be used to make the sequence 👉 King, Ace, Two. This sequence is invalid.

Jokers

  • Jokers can be used to take the place of missing cards in melds.
  • A meld cannot contain more Jokers than normal cards.
    • For example, a meld with one regular card and two Jokers is not valid and cannot be placed.
    • However, a meld of four cards with two regular cards and two Jokers is valid.
  • A Joker cannot be discarded with the exception of discarding it as the last card to finish the round.

End of the Game

The first player to play all their cards and place their last card on the discard pile wins the round.

3. Game Scoring

- A round ends when one of the players has no cards left in hand (they are required to discard a card at the end, just like in any other turn). Each player then scores points equal to the total value of the cards remaining in their hand.

- Placing all cards in one turn without previously placing cards is called "Rummy"! You receive +25 points for winning a game with “Rummy”.

4. No further moves possible

If the situation arises where no further moves are possible, the round ends automatically. The winner is the player with the lowest hand score. The scoring then proceeds in descending order.
