Aim of the Game
  • Score as many points as possible to win.
  • Play three rounds in total.
  • The round starts as soon as all three players are at the table.
  • The winner is the player who has scored the most points.

The game is played either according to the international Skat rules or according to our ‘pub rules’.

How to Play
  • The game starts as soon as all players are in their seats. Each game begins with the bidding phase.
  • Individual moves are indicated by small speech bubbles so that all three players always see what is being called.
  • Important information is also displayed in speech bubbles.
  • The player who has won the bidding (soloist) has the trump suit they have chosen as a small picture (clubs, spades, hearts or diamonds) next to their avatar.  Special games, such as Null or Grand, are indicated by an N or G.
  • The red colouring of the player’s avatar indicates that it is their turn.
  • The winner of the bidding can decide whether to pick up the Skat or not.
  • If a player does not pick up the Skat (known as ‘hand’), they can play ‘Ouvert’ (i.e. open) in the ‘Game Selection’ window, as well as announce Schneider and Schwarz.
  • Once a player has recorded the Skat, they can only play ‘Ouvert’ on ‘Null’.
  • In this picture, the soloist chooses their trump suit (from left to right: clubs, spades, hearts, diamonds, Grand, Nulls.
  • The red marking on the player display makes it clear that it is this player’s turn. In addition, the remaining move time for this player is also shown.
  • To view the last trick played, players can click on the button with the question mark.
  • If a player knows for certain that they want to save some time, they can end the game with the “Rest is mine!“ button. The opposing player or party then receives all the remaining tricks.
  • The “Rest is mine!“ button is also used to shorten clear games. If the opposing party does not agree to shortening the game and wants to finish it in the usual way, the cards remain visible to the opposing party. The remaining tricks are played to the end as normal. At the end of the game, the score is calculated as if the game has ended normally.

Attention
  • If a player takes another trick after pressing this button and they do not have 61 or more points, they will lose the game.
  • After each game, the current score of all players is shown. In the Skat tournament, the ‘Seeger-Fabian’ system is used.
Useful Information
  • The menu can be accessed by tapping on the symbol at the bottom left of the screen.
  • The current score of all players can be seen at any time at the top of the screen.
  • The Skat Grandma is a computer player who automatically steps in for dropouts so that every round can be finished properly for the remaining two players.
