If you believe you have been overcharged, it may be that Apple has grouped more than one of your purchases onto one bill.

Apple charges for purchases either immediately or after a few days. This can lead to grouped bills and you may therefore see a much higher amount than you believe you purchased, e.g. 29.97 USD due to 3 purchases for 9.99 USD.

To check if multiple purchases from different days have been grouped onto one bill, log in to your iTunes account to view and verify your purchase history.
